MY NAME IS NICK SCHIRTZINGER

Growing up as a kid and all the way into college, my schedule was filled with hockey, football, soccer and doing just enough of anything to stay out of trouble. The first real camera I ever picked up wasn’t until I was 28 years old, when the one I bought my wife magically made its way back into my cupboard after a family vacation to Michigan. From that day forward, it has rarely left my side. As a photographer, I may be a bit of a late bloomer, but learning that passion as a husband and father, allowed me to have a much greater appreciation for it and what I think it should mean to my clients.

I learned that to be successful in sports at the highest levels, you must be observant in the world you see around you. I also learned how important it is to find those perfect moments, when there’s only a split second to react, the odds are stacked against you, and expectations are high while the room for error is nonexistent. The memories from those types of moments are the ones that stick with you forever.

My wife and best friend, Cara, and I moved to Panama City in February of 2018. We moved here to open a restaurant, and after a very successful but exhausting 9 years, we started to feel like the wheels were still spinning but we weren’t going anywhere. We felt like those perfect moments you live for were passing us by and we weren’t sure if we would get to experience them again. That was until two things happened, day I picked up a camera, and the day our beautiful daughter Alina was born. So, we decided to sell our restaurant to pursue what we love to do. Because of this, I was able learn a new meaning to life and finally we got to experience those perfect moments we had been missing so much. There’s always light at the end of the tunnel, sometimes you just must look a little bit harder to find it, because the tunnel isn’t always straight.

The only time I’ve been accused of being patient is when I have a camera in my hands. I learned that patience being a parent and spending probably thousands of hours taking photographs of wildlife. When you choose me to be your photographer, you’re not just choosing someone to take your photo, you’re choosing me to capture those “perfect moments” in YOUR world. I don’t believe your pictures should only tell a story, I believe they should bring your memories to life when you see them, like when I
see pictures of old pictures of my grandfather holding me as a kid while riding his red riding lawnmower. When I look at them, even for just a brief moment, I can feel his presence and hear his thunderous laugh as I give him a big hug, just as if he were still
here today. To me, those feelings are what makes a photograph priceless and timeless.

To capture those moments, it’s my job to make sure you are confident, relaxed, and most importantly, ensure that you are being the REAL you. That’s when the magic happens! No matter what the occasion, I will always be 100% committed to providing
